Biography

Laure Waridel

Former Research Assistant

Laure Waridel joined POLIS to work as a graduate student in Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria. She is co-founder of Equiterre, a Quebec-based organization dedicated to the promotion of ecological and socially just choices, and a pioneer in fair trade in Quebec. Her research, writings, and activism have contributed greatly to legitimizing responsible consumption in Quebec. Laure is also an author of several books, including L’enVers de l’assiette (1998, 2003), Une cause cafe (1997), and Coffee With Pleasure (2001). She is a regular contributor to Radio-Canada and Maclean’s magazine named her one of “25 young Canadians who are already changing our world.” (Photo: Jacques Grenier)
