Biography

Emily MacNair

Former Research Associate

Emily MacNair joined the Eco-Research Chair as the Chair’s Smart Growth Coordinator in 2001. She worked on community gardens policy, creating liveable cities, and promoting community-oriented public spaces. Emily helped organize the “Creating More Liveable Communities” conference held at the University of Victoria Law School in June 2001. She worked with Lifecycles in the CRD to promote community gardens at the municipal level and co-authored “A Path Less Taken,” a discussion paper on smart growth at UVic. Emily studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of BC and holds a Master of Environmental Studies degree from York University in Toronto.
