Biography

Fred Gale, PhD
Former Research AssociateFred Gale was a Research Associate with the Eco-Research Chair from 1995 to 1997. He participated in several research projects including eco-certification and labeling, community forest tenures, and trade and environment. He holds a Master of Philosophy, Psychology and English from Trinity College, Dublin University, Ireland, a Master of International Affairs from Carleton University, Ottawa, and a PhD also from Carleton University. Fred collaborated with the Chair after his departure, co-editing Nature, Production and Power (Edward Elgar, 2000). In the same year, he was appointed lecturer in the School of Government, University of Tasmania, Australia where he now teaches courses on public policy, political economy and forest politics.
