Brian Egan
Former Research AssociateBrian Egan joined the Eco-Research Chair from April 2000 til June 2003 to coordinate the International Network of Forests and Communities. He came to the ERC with extensive experience as a consultant in environmental research and extension, particularly in the area of forest conservation and ecological restoration. Brian also support the ERC's other research initiatives in the area of community-based natural resource management. and led a land selection study for the Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group.
Brian completed a Master of Environmental Studies degree at York University in 1995 where his research focused on forest loss and conservation-based development in Central America. He returned to POLIS as an affiliate in 2007 while completing his PhD on Hul'qumi'num cultural history and land rights.
