Biography

Katherine Barrett, PhD

Former Research Associate


Dr Katherine Barrett worked with POLIS from September 2000 to August 2002. As a Post Doctoral Fellow with MCRI Coasts Under Stress, she helped to develop Community-University Connections. During this time, Katherine was also Project Director with the Science and Environmental Health Network (a US-based NGO) through which she published extensively on biotechnology policy and the precautionary principle. Katherine holds an MSc in Microbiology and a PhD in Botany and Applied Ethics, both from the University of British Columbia.
