Heather English joined the Polis project in May 2007 as a research and project assistant. She is completing her undergraduate degree in biology and environmental studies at UVic. Her studies have focused on local ecology, sustainable infrastructure design, ecosystem dynamics, forestry and climate change. Heather has a background in international and local volunteer work where she gained hands on experience in dealing with the underlying social and ecological causes of environmental problems. She served as a director on the UVic Sustainability Project’s board where she coordinated EarthFest 2006: A Tribute to Slow Living in Victoria. She is currently researching the potential for a revolving climate fund at UVic for the on-campus group Common Energy. Heather is also involved in Victoria’s yoga community. Her favorite pose is “happy baby.”
